Bulk Upload Documents

Efficiently upload a large number of documents to quickly build your site's content.

To accommodate the large size and quantity of files typically found at industrial sites, Preserve includes a bulk upload feature so you're not uploading documents one at a time.

Bulk upload is available at two levels: Organization (for global documents, shared across every site) and Site (for documents specific to one location). Both work the same way once you're there.

Step 1: Open Bulk Upload

  1. Click the small gear icon below the Operate dashboard's top bar — this is separate from your username/account menu, so don't look there.
  2. For global documents, stay on the Organization tab and click Bulk Upload Documents. For site-specific documents, click the Site tab, select your site, then click Bulk Upload Documents.

Step 2: Add your files

Drag a folder onto the grey "Drag folders to this area to upload its contents" box, or click to browse your local storage and select a top-level folder.

Step 3: Upload

Click the blue Upload button beneath your files.

  • Files upload in batches of 10 at a time, for performance.
  • Each file shows its own progress via an individual loader bar.
  • If a particular file fails, click Retry on that file rather than restarting the whole batch.
  • Once uploaded, your documents are immediately available in the Document Browser for your organization (or site, depending on which level you uploaded to).

⚠️ Before you use Remove All

On this same screen, you'll also see a Remove All button. This permanently and irreversibly deletes every document at that level — all documents in your entire organization if used from the Organization tab, or all documents at that specific site if used from the Site tab.

There is no undo. Only use this if you are certain you want to wipe out all existing content before a fresh bulk upload — for example, during initial setup or a full content migration. Never use this on a live site with content your team is actively relying on.
