What is a Learning Path?

Learning Paths are guided sequences of courses that take learners from start to finish on a specific training topic.

A Learning Path is a curated sequence of courses grouped into a single structured journey. Instead of enrolling in courses one by one, a learner follows a path from beginning to end — useful for onboarding programs, role-specific training, or any situation where the order of learning matters.

How Learning Paths differ from standalone courses

A standalone course is a single piece of training content. A Learning Path groups multiple courses together and presents them in a deliberate order. The path gives learners context for why they're taking each course and what they're working toward as a whole.

Learners can start courses within a path in any order. The path marks complete only when every course in it is finished.

What learners see

Each Learning Path has a title, description, a list of the courses it contains, and information about who it's designed for. Learners can browse available paths, view the details, and enroll at their own pace — unless the path is restricted or private, in which case they may need to request access or be assigned.

All learning paths you're enrolled in appear in the My Active Learning Paths card on your Dashboard.

Visibility options

Learning Paths have three visibility settings that control who can see and enroll:

  • All Users — anyone with Learn access can see and enroll
  • Restricted — learners must request access; a Learn Admin approves or denies
  • Private — only visible to admins; learners only see it when assigned to them
